'Aliens: Colonial Marines' Made Enjoyable Thanks To Modder

Gaming communities really know their game, and one such game that players and modders alike would like to change is Sega's and Gearbox's "Aliens: Colonial Marines."

Players of the game know that although the game took years in development and a successful movie (and game) franchise to back it up, this one still needs more developments and improvements to be truly enjoyable. In fact, the game is considered trainwreck, reports Twinfinite. But thanks to ModDB modder TemplarGFX, it now is.

TemplarGFX made a total overhaul of the game's features, tweaking, enhancing and balancing everything to make the game run and play as "how it should have been when it first released." Characters such as humans and Xenomorphs, weapons and weapons mechanics, and technically everything that could be enhanced was enhanced so that the game will truly be enjoyable - and terrifying as it should be.

James Dickinson, creator of the TemplarGFX "ACM" Overhaul, noted in a Changelog that even the game's engine was tweaked to churn out the best possible settings for the game's graphics. You can view all details here, or simply watch a video of the game, running on the overhaul, below.

TemplarGFX said that the overhaul has been play tested to see its effects, and indeed it has proven to be a real fun modification to an otherwise unenjoyable game, reports Attack of The Fanboy. Now, the aliens are truly fearsome, your allies have been enhanced to be the allies that you need them to be, body armor is now an essential item needed to survive (without it, you'd be dead in a jiffy), weapons are now balanced (giving the need to use them wisely), and even the flashlight has been balanced too.

TemplarGFX assures you that using this mod will make your "ACM" experience something should have been felt the first time the game was released. Check out the mod here.
