The epic tandem of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will be featured again in an epic revolution film. According to new reports, the best buds will be reunited for "Bunker Hill."
Deadline reported that Aaron Stockard has signed to scribe "Bunker Hill: A City, A Siege, A Revolution" a book penned by Nathaniel Philbrick. Warner Bros acquired it in 2013. Per the report, Ben Affleck will direct the film. However, aside from this, he will be producing it with Matt Damon and Jennifer Todd.
"Bunker Hill" is the most important Boston historical tale. It unveils the story behind the American Revolution in 1775. It showcased the conflict between the Bostonians and British troops following the Boston Tea Party, when sieges erupted at Lexington and Concord and a British blockade resulted in outright war in that was called, "Battle of Bunker Hill." The bloody encounter united the colonies and initiated the war for independence.
MalayMailOnline reported that Matt Damon would be taking the lead role. The "The Martian" star will reportedly play the role of Joseph Warren, a doctor and a soldier who later become the leader of the Patriots. "Patriots" is the name given to the colonel rebels who died in the Bunker Hill battle.
According to ScreenCrush, aside from the great team up between Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the "Batman V Superman" star has a good history working with Aaron Stockard. Per the report, the pair co-writes "Gone Baby Gone" and the bank-robber heist film, "The Town."
Both films received a positive reception from the critics and even earned them a few nominations and awards. Amy Ryan was nominated for an outstanding supporting performer for "Gone Baby Gone." Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner won an award for playing as the violent townie gangster in "The Town." These films also did great in the box-office. Thus, fans have high expectations for the next Affleck -Stockard team up.
