Actress Tori Spelling who experienced a life-threatening condition during her fourth pregnancy opened up about the factors that helped her to overcome the situation successfully.
Spelling was diagnosed with a deadly disease placenta previa, only 20 weeks after conceiving her fourth child. Placenta previa is a complication of pregnancy in which the placenta grows in the lowest part of the uterus and covers all or part of the cervix, leading to internal bleeding.
The actress, who had bed rest and nine massive bleeds during her pregnancy, successfully welcomed her fourth child Finn Davey McDermott on Aug. 30.
Three weeks after the birth she was rushed back to the hospital after her C-section scars opened. Spelling underwent a successful emergency surgery. According to the new mom, the support she received from her husband Dean McDermott was the prime factor that helped to deal with the entire situation.
"Dean is my rock. I had dark days, when I would say, 'Am I going to be okay?' Dean had to answer those tough questions, like, 'Is Mama ever coming back? I appreciated him on such a new level after that," she told Life & Style. ''It just reconfirmed that Dean is my soul mate he's the glue in this family. We are all such a bonded group now. It changed us all, it really did.''
Like Spelling, McDermott was also unable to think a life without his loving wife: ''We do everything together. We're so madly in love and it gets stronger every day. I just couldn't imagine going through life without my partner, my best friend, my rock,'' Contactmusic.com reported.
Spelling and McDermott who married in 2006 has three children together: five-year-old Liam, four-year-old Stella and 10-month Hattie.
