"Rouge One: A Star Wars Story" recently dropped its first teaser hinting another revolutionary prequel. "Rouge One: A Star Wars Story" will be far more different from the usual "Star Wars" series, but the film promises to still be about "Star Wars."
According to Hollywood Reporter, "Rouge One: A Star Wars Story" will still deliver a "Star Wars" narrative. In spite of not being exactly part of the "Star Wars" main plot that includes the characters of Skywalkers, Jedi and all, it still carries the touch of being a "Star Wars" film.
Entertainment Weekly reported, "Rouge One: A Star Wars Story" is the first ever "Star Wars" spin-off movie. "Rouge One: A Star Wars Story" is going back to the time about 40 years ago to search for the Rebel operation, which is hinted in the original 1977 film, "Star Wars."
"Rouge One: A Star Wars Story" will unveil the duty of the Rebel team to steal the plans of the "Empire's planet-killing battlestation." Starring Felicity Jones, "The Theory of Everything" Oscar nominee will play as the lead star named Jyn Erso.
Jyn Erso grew up as an orphan who is responsible enough to take care of herself since her mid-teens. Jyn Erso can be described as freed rebel, troublemaker and by seeing her in a handcuff, one can say that she is an outlaw.
"This is a rebellion, isn't it? I rebel." Jyn Erso told Mon Mothma, the leader from the "Return of the Jedi." Hollywood Reporter added the character of Jyn Erso can be compared to Daisy Ridley's role as Rey in "Star Wars: The Force Awaken."
Aside from being both brunette and English actresses, they, too, grew up as abandoned children. Jyn Erso and Rey became independent and somehow, rebellious.
However, Rey turned out to be successful in "Star Wars: The Force Awaken" but, unfortunately, Jyn Erso might not have the same fate. "Rouge One: A Star Wars Story" is directed by Gareth Edwards and set to be released on Dec. 16.
