When news came out that "Final Fantasy" game developer company Square Enix had plans to remake "Final Fantasy VII," fans of the video game were so hyped. For many months, the fans were kept in the dark as to how Square Enix planned to reimagine "Final Fantasy VII." Now, Square Enix has finally revealed a little of their plans as to how the story of "Final Fantasy VII" will go.
Unlike what fans believed, "Final Fantasy VII" will not be episodic. In fact, according to Square Enix, "Final Fantasy VII" remake will be compromised of numerous, full-sized games instead of series of smaller episodes. The news about the "Final Fantasy VII" remake comes from Game Informer on one of their interviews with "Final Fantasy" producer Yoshinori Kitashi.
In the interview, Yoshinori Kitashi revealed that one of their inspirations behind the "Final Fantasy VII" remake was from "Final Fantasy XIII" series, which encompassed a total of three games. Furthermore, Youshinori Kitashi commented on the rumors that, in "Final Fantasy VII," there will be a lot of changes going to happen to modernize the story of the video game.
"It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In XIII, each instalment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense," Yoshinori Kitashi commented
"Whereas with Final Fantasy VII Remake, we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in a multi-part series... So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game," Yoshinori Kitashi added.
There is no release date for "Final Fantasy VII" yet but it will be developed for Sony's PlayStation 4. On the other hand, "Final Fantasy 15" will launch this Sept. 30.
