Voice actor David Hayter is going to make a comeback as Snake in an upcoming "Metal Gear Solid" project. Though it may sound surprising as it was recently revealed that game studio Konami didn't want him for the role since earlier installments, there's no reason to doubt as the project will be fan-made.
Those who follow updates about "Metal Gear Solid" will know that the fan remake "Shadow Moses Project" was unceremoniously turned down by Konami, reports Eurogamer. Good news as the people behind that fan project have now started a new project called "The Fan Legacy: Metal Gear Solid."
"The Fan Legacy: Metal Gear Solid" will be a virtual museum made to honor the iconic and legendary series made by game creator Hideo Kojima. Players will be immersed in a first-person experience with VR support. Of course, what better way to honor the series' main protagonist, Snake, by getting his original voice actor?
This will be the first time for Hayter to again take on the iconic role since losing it in 2010's "Peace Walker." But despite Hayter losing interest in the series after not being asked to return for the role in "Ground Zeroes," reports Polygon, he will return for the fan project.
Born from the ‘Shadow Moses’ project, The Fan Legacy: Metal Gear Solid is a first-person experience allowing fans the opportunity to revisit some of the most emblematic MGS levels in the form of a virtual museum. There will be no need for stealth this time around. The Fan Legacy: Metal Gear Solid will feature many pieces of amazing fan art from devoted lovers of the series and our collaborators. As an unofficial, non-profit production, the project is a gift, from the fans, but also addressed to the fans; to share our affection for the seminal franchise. We are delighted to announce that the project, available for PC, will feature VR support. We can also reveal that non-other than the legendary David Hayter will be involved in the project, which we are overjoyed by! The project will be released for free download in May, and we truly hope that you will enjoy the experience.Special thanks to Sheraz Ali for the amazing artwork!Thank you all for your support,The Fan Legacy team.
