Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow Walker, has just won her case in court, bagging in a crash settlement of $10 million. The deal was made between the driver of the car in which Paul Walker died.
According to TMZ, the grounds by which Roger Rodas, the driver of the car, was held liable for the death of the "Fast and Furious" actor was that he was partly to blame for the accident. This was despite the findings that Rodas was not engaging in any unsafe maneuvers at the time of the accident.
The amount of the $10.1 million will be initially covered by Rodas' insurance company. In the event that the insurance company will not be able to cover the crash settlement amount, Rodas' estate will be made answerable. Considering the staggering amount of settlement that Paul Walker's daughter had won, it is quite unclear if the estate of Rodas can even answer for such a huge sum.
Jeff Milam, counsel of Paul Walker's daughter, has been representing the 17-year-old since 2014. The settlement was made during said year but media frenzy didn't get hold of it as it was filed under Meadow W. The girl got $7.2 million while Milam got hold of under $3 million.
Fox News mentioned a statement given by Milam. According to Meadow W's counsel, the amount that was paid by Roger Rodas' estate into his client's trust is only a small portion of what Paul Walker might have earned had he not died in that fateful car crash. Milam went on to highlight the earning capacity of Paul as a movie star, who can rake in millions if he's still living.
Although Meadow Walker has already won millions of dollars in car crash settlement, she is still pursuing an action against Porsche. Her lawsuit is grounded on car design defects which allegedly caused the car crash from which her father, Paul Walker, died.
