Most people who observed the third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley saw a convincing and easy victory for the Filipino boxing legend. So when Pacquiao was told that his rival, Floyd Mayweather Jr., allegedly believed the fight to be a draw, the former world champion from the Philippines pondered if the undefeated American has mental problems.
"If that is his opinion, it is right for him to retire," Manny Pacquiao said via the Washington Post. "It seems there is really a problem [with his mental state]."
Floyd Mayweather was able to defeat Manny Pacquiao via unanimous decision in their 2015 fight. The two legendary boxers have continued to verbally spar even after their fight is over.
This past Saturday, Manny Pacquiao rebounded well from his loss to Floyd Mayweather by scoring a unanimous decision against Timothy Bradley, with an official scorecard of 116-110 from all three judges, ESPN reports. Pacquiao was also able to knock down Bradley twice in the fight, in rounds seven and nine.
Many boxing analysts, even Bradley himself, thought that the Filipino icon looked sharp and explosive during the fight at the MGM Grand Arena. Bradley's coach, Teddy Atlas, as well as Pacquiao's trainer, Freddy Roach, thought that the 37-year-old Asian boxer looked impressive and sensational in the bout.
If Manny Pacquiao believes that Floyd Mayweather should stay retired, what does he think about his own retirement? "I might enjoy retired life or I may come back," Pacquiao stated via the Los Angeles Times. Pacquiao is currently running for a senate position in the Philippines.
