"Focus" singer Ariana Grande was shockingly associated with the label "whore" by a fan over the music video of her "Dangerous Woman." The "Bang Bang" artist showed the fan a thing or two as Ariana Grande gave the fan a piece of her mind.
New York Daily News reports that exchanges over the "Dangerous Woman" music video created a controversial buzz for Ariana Grande. The fan was apologetic in making the criticism of the "Dangerous Woman" music video but Ariana Grande did not take kindly to the label.
"All respect, (I loved) 'Dangerous Woman,' but the trouble is that in (the video she's) like a whore!" the fan wrote. "Sorry for the rudeness. I only said the truth. SORRY." Interestingly, the fan's reaction to the "Dangerous Woman" music video is shared by a number of Ariana Grande fans.
Ariana Grande, in turn, called her fan sexist. According to Ariana Grande, the fan's reaction is part existing double standards between men and women. As far as Ariana Grande is concerned, she believes that if men are free to express sexuality, including appearing half-clothed, to the public then women should also be as free.
Ariana Grande added that the public should no longer express sensitivity over a woman's decision to display her body. Such an expression, Ariana Grande pointed out, is a means by which women express their love for their own body.
E! News recalls that Ariana Grande made a splash last year by social media comments about empowered women being mistaken for "bitches." The "Focus" singer also opened up about not appreciating being seen as a man's property.
Addressing the very real issue of women finding worth and identity only by the men they associate with in any capacity, Ariana Grande says that a woman should be valued as an individual. Clearly, the controversy over the "Dangerous Woman" music video will further establish Ariana Grande as someone who will always speak her mind.
