Three Things to Help You Live Longer

Life can be improved not only through exercise and living a healthier life but also by taking into account some common taken-for-granted strategies, Yahoo! Shine reports.

One of the things people can do to improve their life is by keeping a predictable schedule on a daily basis. Dr. David Angus, author of "A Short Guide to Long Life" suggests that waking up and sleeping at the same time every day can be really helpful. He says that a regular schedule can make such a big difference in one's life because "your body loves predictability. It's one of the best ways to reduce stress and maintain a balanced state of being."

In addition to formal exercise, Dr. Angus also suggests that people should get up and move more because bodies are designed to move. Moving is also one of the best and simplest ways of nourishing the organs in the body. He claims that sitting for five hours a day may be equated to smoking an entire pack of cigarette daily and this is even true even if you spend an hour at the gym. What can be done is for people to stand up and move for five minutes. For instance, parking somewhere far will require you to walk longer so these simple adjustments can be very crucial.

Finally, Dr. Angus also suggests that people should take charge of their health. This means that individuals should know how to check their blood pressure. Uploading one's medical information to an online cloud system can also be very helpful because in times of emergencies, physicians can simply access the information and they will be guided accordingly.
