A eulogy of a mother whose daughter died due to heroin overdose has touched so many people through social media. Kathleen Errico wrote an emotional tribute to her 23-year-old daughter which narrated how she fought addiction.
Fox11 reported that Errico has considered her daughter, Kelsey Grace Endicott, a very brave person because she battled one of the toughest enemies. "For many years, she fought a heroic battle with addiction. She had been sober for almost ten months, but her disease still had a powerful hold on her," the mother said in the obituary posted on her Facebook page.
Errico also said her daughter turned to drugs because she wanted to feel normal like the people around her. The mother said heroin made Endecott like she belonged to the group of people that surrounds her and she felt accepted.
However, the mom said drugs also tore her life apart and even made Endecott lose her job and even te custody of her young son. "She worked hard and fought the good fight eventually regaining custody of her beautiful baby boy Camden and finding that sobriety was a much better way to live, but the demon was still there," Errico said noting that her daughter was supposed to come home in less than two months but God surely had better plans for her.
According to New York Daily News, Errico's goal of sharing the eulogy for her daughter was to make people aware of what heroin can do to young people like Kelsey. She said helping even one person with what she wrote would mean a lot to her.
"There were complete stranger's that came to her wake because they were in our shoes and just wanted to reach out," she added. "The parents that have lost a child to this epidemic have a bond like no other."
