Channing Tatum is fappy, which is to say happy and fat. Those are his words - not mine - spoken on The Ellen Degeneres Show.
"Right now, what me and my wife like to call it, I'm very fappy," the formerly Sexiest Man Alive told DeGeneres. "I am very fat and happy."
To say the 33-year-old "Step Up" star is looking overweight would be a stretch. Still, with a soft stomach and rounder face, the actor isn't quite the vision he was in "Magic Mike," when he gave new meaning to the term "washboard abs."
"I've been working for two straight years and now, some really needed downtime with the family," he said.
After co-starring with his now wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum in "Step Up" back in 2006, Tatum went on to star in "The Eagle," "The Vow" and "White House Down," among others.
Dewan-Tatum, meanwhile, has played Janie in the TV series "The Playboy Club," Teresa Morrison in "American Horror Story" and Freya Beauchamp in "Witches of East End."
Dewan-Tatum gave birth to a daughter named Everly last May.
"She's saying 'dadadadada.' I don't think she knows exactly what it means yet but it doesn't matter," Tatum said, before opening up about the insecurities of fatherhood.
"You know how you get that first thing of not feeling cool enough for your kid, because like you think you're the coolest thing in the world so far and she's just like a little baby, she's just a little infant? But she actually has better taste in music than I think I do. Because she will only fall asleep to really good music."
According to Tatum, Drake's "Hold On We're Going Home" and Prince's "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" are among the eight-month-old's favorites.
When it comes to passing on the title of Sexiest Man Alive to Adam Levine, Tatum said: "I think the only thing that you pass on is the ability for your friends just to make complete fun of you for the rest of your life."
