Prince Harry and the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, met with Daisy Ridley, Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca at the "Star Wars" set at Buckinghamshire's Pinewood Studios. Daisy Ridley, better known to "Star Wars" fans as Rey, played host to Prince Harry and Prince William as she introduced Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and other characters.
Prince Harry seemed particularly interested in Daisy Ridley, or at least the head cast used for special effects in "Star Wars" scenes involving Rey. In a footage of the visit, Prince Harry could be seen leaning in close for a more intimate look at the mask while asking Daisy Ridley a few questions on trade tricks. Daisy Ridley happily shared these with Prince Harry.
Interestingly, Sky News reports that Prince Harry did not get a hug from Daisy Ridley but from another "Star Wars" star - Chewbacca. Prince Harry and Prince William also got to hang out with Jedi master Luke Skywalker, and got to try out the power of the Force by battling it out with "Star Wars" light sabers.
Prince William on the other was more taken with the Han Solo mask. One wonders if perhaps the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, at some point, in their childhood played "Star Wars" games where Prince William was Han Solo.
According to Hello magazine, the visit by Prince Harry and Prince William to the "Star Wars" set was an opportunity to showcase the creative British talent involved in the making of "Star Wars" films. Currently, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ranks as the top grosser in film history.
Prince Harry and Prince William also introduced to "Star Wars" Episode VIII director Rian Johnson and to other key "Star Wars" actors who were filming during the royal visit. John Boyega, who plays Fin, was one of these actors.
