Early Problems In 5 Year Old Kids: Frustrations, Stress, School And More

Even if they are just five years old, kids today face a lot of problems that most of their parents would not think of. The five-year-old kids get easily frustrated when they can't do what they want to do at an early age. Think of it much like your child's bratty phase, which is also an opportunity to teach them valuable life lessons.

As a matter of fact, this is a great way to introduce to them the concept of want vs. need. Teaching them that they can't always have what they want would make it much easier to hone their values at an older age. But for now, your problem is dealing with your kid's current problematic phase.

A Five-Year-Old Kid's Problem

According to Huffington Post, five-year-old kids have different problems only children their age can understand. Something as small as getting preoccupied with Play-DOH can be a huge problem for a five-year-old, especially if they're having a hard time executing the idea they had for the molding clay.

Five year old kids also hate waiting; they are having a hard time doing nothing as they are always active and on the go. They also feel irritated when they lose a crayon or can't find one in a restaurant whenever they want to do an activity.

As per the BuzzFeed Video (watch below), five year old kids also struggle to put the right shoes on, with incompetent, non-functioning tablets and even so much as choosing the right drink. These are just a few things five year old kids are struggling with that are often overlooked by parents and adults.

School Is Stressful

Meanwhile, at an early age, kids are also having a hard time to cope up in school. They feel the weight of education is hard to take, especially if they have a lot of homework, as per FIT.

Kids are stressed out when they know they still have things to do after a long day in school. Which is why parents must let their children rest and do even some physical activity -- a change from the usual mental activity they experience in school -- when they arrive at home.

Let Out Some Steam

Let them run and play, do some hula hoops, jump rope, sing and dance. Allow them to be active to release their stress and they will have the focus to do their homework later.

Kids also feel their teachers hate them at times, particularly if don't get enough attention from them. It can lead to stress and a feeling of being unwanted. Although this may not seem much, it could actually lead to behavioral problems in kids.

Parents must console their kids if ever this happens and talk to their teachers to open the problem. The educators must be surprised but, this will help address the kids' concern and solve the issue.
