'Beetlejuice 2' Release Date, News & Update: Winona Ryder Confirms Film; 'Beetlejuice 2' Not A Sequel But A Reboot?

"Beetlejuice 2" is one of the anticipated sequels at the time. However, it is difficult to tell if the film is pushing through or not due to the conflicting reports about it. However, there are big chances that "Beetlejuice 2" is happening because another cast confirms it.

Winona Ryder Confirms "Beetlejuice 2"

Parent Herald previously reported that Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton are set to join "Beetlejuice 2." Seth Grahame-Smith confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Ryder will return in "Beetlejuice 2," suggesting that the second "Beetlejuice" film is in development.

Meanwhile, CrossMap reported that Winona Ryder also confirmed "Beetlejuice 2" on her appearance at Late Night WIth Seth Meyers. "Um, I think I can confirm it, because Tim Burton did this interview - like, it was very hush hush, top secret," Ryder said.

"Beetlejuice 2" Not A Sequel But A Spinoff

Meanwhile, WhatCulture reported that "Beetlejuice 2" will not be a sequel but a spinoff. In fact, the upcoming film will be called, "Bettlejuice Goes Hawaiian." According to screenwriter Jonathan Gems, "Beetlejuice 2" is Tim Burton's idea for a sequel that he has no plans on pursuing.

"Tim thought it would be funny to match the surfing backdrop of a beach movie with some sort of German Expressionism, because they're totally wrong together," Gems explained.

Deadline reported that "Beetlejuice 2" would be a reboot with the intention of advancing the storyline of the original, which was done by The Geffen Company and Warner Bros. Since, "Beetlejuice 2" will be a remake, fans can't expect Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin and Winona Ryder in the film.

The reports about"Beetlejuice 2" are difficult to connect. IGN reported earlier that Tim Burton already confirmed "Beetlejuicee 2." Then, NME reported that Burton's camp denied "Bettlejuice 2" insisting that the director is busy with other films. Meanwhile, Grahame-Smith already confirmed that Winona Ryder is in the sequel, but other sources said that it will be a reboot so the original cast will be replaced.

Unfortunately, it looks like some don't want a "Beetlejuice" reboot. "Either do a sequel to Beetlejuice with Michael Keaton back as Beetlejuice or forget it. Fans have always wanted a sequel and if its in 3D, it will sell. A Reboot or re-imagining WONT work for this material," one fan wrote. Do you agree?

Is "Beetlejuice 2" really happening? If it's a reboot will fans still see Keaton, Ryder and Baldwin in it? Do you want a "Beetlejuice" sequel or reboot? Share your thoughts below.
