Apple unveiled its 2016 Macbook laptop release, which boasts an Intel Skylake processor, improved battery life, and a body that is thinner than the Macbook Air. The second-generation Apple Macbook now also comes in Rose Gold to align with the new color offering for the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
The Telegraph reports that the 2016 Apple Macbook is the lightest laptop the tech giant currently offers, at a thickness of only 13.1mm and a weight of only 2 lbs. However, although it is the slimmest of Apple laptops, the 2016 Apple Macbook now has a more sturdy battery life.
In fact, it beats out the Macbook Air by one hour. Its 11-hour battery life is just slightly behind the Macbook Pro now and translates to net surfing for 10 hours or video playback for 11 hours.
An Intel Core M processor belonging to the Skylake generation is one other promise that the 2016 Apple Macbook brings. Wired reports that with this new sixth-generation chip, the second-generation Apple Macbook now features as much as 20 percent processing improvement. It also has around 40 percent improvement in graphics performance.
Besides rose gold, the 2016 Apple Macbook also comes in gold, silver and space gray. The basic model of the 12-inch retina display 2016 Apple Macbook offers 1.1GHz Core M3 chip, 8GB of RAM and 256GB flash storage at $1,299.
A second-generation Apple Macbook, which has 1.3GHz Core M7 processor, 8GB RAM and 512GB flash storage is also being offered. It is said to have a retail price of $1,599.
