Singer Jake Owen's Unborn Baby to be Named after his Godmother

Singer Jake Owen has finally found an appropriate name for his unborn daughter- Olive Pearl Owen.

The baby girl, who is due this month is the first child of Owen and wife Lacey Buchanan.

The name is a reflection of Owen's love for his late godmother Pearl. Pearl died in July, shortly after the couple announced the pregnancy news.

"Pearl is like the angel of my life," People magazine quoted Owen telling Popwatch in 2009.

Owen married model Buchanan on May 7 in a small ceremony in Vero Beach, Florida, exactly one month after their engagement. The couple announced pregnancy and gender of the baby in July.

"If she's anything like Lacey she'll be the most beautiful little soul ever," the expecting singer told Us Weekly after revealing sex of his unborn child. "I'm so excited."

Owen shared his love for babies.

"Not only do I have a beautiful wife I get to spend my life with, I'm getting a baby too!" Owen told People magazine. "You know with other people's babies, they'll say, 'Do you want to hold the baby?' And I always am excited to do that, but then you have to give the baby back. Now we get to keep the baby."

Owen, a professional golfer shot to fame with the release of his debut album "Startn' with Me" in 2005. Songs "Yee Haw," "Startin' with Me" and "Something About a Woman" from the album reached Top 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

In 2009, songs "Easy Does It," "Don't Think I Can't Love You," "Eight Second Ride" and "Tell Me," from his second album entered the chart. Title track of his third album "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" became first No. 1 single on the Country chart in 2011.
