‘Fast & Furious 8’ Release Date, News & Updates: Michelle Rodriguez Upset Over Scott Eastwood’s Role?

"Fast and Furious 8" recently announced the addition of Scott Eastwood to the cast of the upcoming installment of the popular franchise. Rumors are rife that Eastwood's role will be one similar to that of Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner. However, Michelle Rodriguez did not seem pleased when she heard about these rumors.

"Furious 8" has recently tapped Scott Eastwood to join the cast as a new character who will be operating under Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody. While details about his character are yet to be announced, several reports noted on the possibility that his role may become Vin Diesel's new second-in-command in replacement of Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner.

Michelle Rodriguez, however, did not take this rumor so well, as HollywoodLife.com reports that the 30-year-old actress said that no one can fill Walker's role in the "Fast and Furious" movie franchise.

"I don't know about that. Nobody will ever, as long as I live, fill that role. Understand that?" she said.

The "Furious 8" actress, however, welcomed Eastwood with open arms and said that she is "happy" to have him join the cast. Charlize Theron will also be joining the cast in the upcoming installment.

In a recent post on Instagram, Eastwood expressed his excitement over his role in "FF8." The actor also said that he and Walker have been close friends who have surfed and traveled together.

"He was an older brother to me. For me to be able to add to the F&F story, Paul's story, and the FAST family is like a dream come true to me," he wrote.

Meanwhile, Vin Diesel recently unveiled the latest movie poster for "Fast & Furious 8," reports E! News. The poster showed what seemed like Dom looking from afar, which somewhat hints that he will continue to look ahead despite Brian's absence.

"Fast and Furious 8" opens in theatres on Apr. 14, 2017.
