A pregnant woman from Indiana got the shock of her life when her ultrasound showed an image of Jesus on the cross. The expecting mother said she did not notice the image at first until someone pointed it out to her.
Aley Meyer said in an interview with CNN that she did not pay attention to the image until her baby shower a week after. She claimed that a friend made her realize what the image on the ultrasound looks like.
"I think it is pretty amazing," Meyer said. "There was so much detail like his hair and legs crossed at the bottom."
She added that all her family members were shocked with the discovery. Meyer even claimed that she had to drive to her grandparents' home to show them the photo since they do not have Facebook.
US Weekly said Meyer and her fiancé Devan Baize are expecting a son this June. They have already named him Easton.
"I think it's a sign from God," she told US Weekly when asked about a reaction on the image. "I have been on so many medications for Crohn's disease and I think it's a sign everything will be just fine."
When she shared the photo on Facebook, many people were amazed at the image. She said that a lot of individuals asked permission to share the image with their friends.
Some termed it as a "Jesus' true gift" and a "miracle" and congratulated the couple for the baby they are expecting. However, medicine and science seem to have a different explanation for the image.
It was explained in the US Weekly report that the image is actually the brain of the child. "What you're looking at is structure in the brain that divides the two hemispheres," said ob-gyn Dr. Michael S. Broder.
