Boston Celtics Beat Atlanta Hawks, Series Tied 2-2

The Boston Celtics were able to recover from a 16-point lead of the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday. Coach Brad Stevens' team went home with a 104-95 win versus their opponents tying the NBA Playoffs First Round at 2-2.

Mass Live said Sunday's win was greatly attributed to the combined efforts of Isaiah Thomas with 28 points, Evan Turner with 17 points and Jonas Jerebko with 16 points. Stevens became determined to recover from the 16-point deficit of the team.

According to the Celtics website, this recent win is a testament that the team should never be counted out nor underestimated. "We never give up," Thomas said. "No matter if we're down 20 - sometimes guys will be on the bench and be like, 'It doesn't even feel like we're down 20. We know we're going to come back.'"

The 27-year-old point guard explained that the entire team was focused on winning the game. He added that their fans also helped them maintain their energy to beat the Hawks. "Our fans continued to cheer, continued to help us out energy-wise. We fought back and we got the win," Thomas said.

This was evident during the overtime of Sunday's game where the Celtics had perfect shooting while Atlanta missed 10 of their 11 shots. The team's fans were surprised with the effort of the team but most of the players expected their victory.

"We just keep fighting," Thomas said in the Celtics website report. "We continue to fight and we keep believing in each other, and stuff usually works out in our favor."

Hawks point guard Jeff Teague was one of the most disappointed over his team's loss, as per ESPN. The player said he lost the chance to score more points to seal a win.

Teague all he wanted to do as the clock ticked the final minutes was to have a shot. Unfortunately, he did not have any opportunity. "It just slipped out of my hand."
