The upcoming episode of "The Blacklist" will be filled with mystery, big surprises and perhaps shocking revelations. According to new reports, the "The Blacklist" cast will hunt for Liz's killer on her funeral. But, is Liz really dead?
Liz And Tom Got Into An Accident
The last episode of "The Blacklist" featuring Liz's (Megan Boone) death shocked fans and viewers. Liz and Tom (Ryan Eggold) got into a car accident while trying to run away from Mr. Solomon (Edi Gathegi) compromising their child in the process.
Fortunately, Liz and Tom's child was safe, but Liz did not end with the same fate. She flatlined en route to the hospital, which broke the heart of many. "We're all deeply affected by it," Harry Lennix told Entertainment Weekly. "Over the last three years, of course, we've all become kind of a family."
Task Force Will Seek Justice For Liz And Hunt The Killer
Per the report, Red (James Spader) is so hurt that he wants to take revenge to anyone involved in Liz's death. Meanwhile, Dembe will be so emotional that his reasoning won't work in the next "The Blacklist" episode.
"Right now you won't hear any wise words from me as to why you shouldn't do it this way. It's like whatever you think is best, let's go ahead and do it," Hisham Tawfiq disclosed about this character.
EW reported that the "The Blacklist" cast will hunt for the killer on her funeral. Lennix added that Cooper and the task force will do their best to get to the bottom of the case and punish them. In addition, this case is very personal to Cooper.
Liz Faked Her Death In "The Blacklist"
However, there are speculations that Liz's death in "The Blacklist" is not true. Per Design & Trend, "The Blacklist" fans believe that Liz faked her death from the beginning with Kaplan.
One fan speculated, that Liz and Kaplan planned this and to make it more convincing they kept it from Red and everybody else. In this way, Liz can disappear and investigate who wants her so badly. "Mark my words, she faked her own death. And this also conveniently leaves Tom free for the spin-off," Laura, "The Blacklist" fan wrote.
Meanwhile, per TVLine, it is also possible that Red was behind Liz's fake death. This is not the first time that he faked her death as a protective measure. One probable reason is to allow Liz to use her real-life maternity leave.
