Snapchat Makes Record Of 10 Billion Daily Views For Videos

Messaging application Snapchat is slowly making a name in the social media realm. Some people even consider it as a tough competitor of Facebook especially when it comes to video snaps.

Bloomberg reported that the app has recorded an estimated of 10 billion daily views for the video uploads on Snapchats for March. This was a big margin from the 8 billion views it got last February.

It was added that the company wanted to share the achievement of the company to prove to investors that people do not only consume content but also produce and broadcast it. Snapchat explained that users have the choice to post a video or a photo on their Story feed which disappears in 24 hours.

According to Bloomberg, the 100 million daily users of Snapchat is starting to compete against the 1.65 billion users of Facebook which has started its Live video capability just this year. The Live feed allows a Facebook user to record a video and share it to an audience as it happens. Other users can also react to the live feed while streaming the content.

But despite the Facebook live streaming, TechCrunch mentioned that the increase in the video viewing for Snapchat increased by a 150 percent. It was compared to the 8 billion daily views reported by Facebook in November last year.

"Conversations [on Snapchat] are not only including a photo or video, but are being started by them," analyst Robert Peck told Bloomberg. "People's behavior is changing so that photos are being used as speech instead of a repository for memories."

It was highlighted in a Fortune report that Snapchat is continuously booming especially among young people. In the United States, the company said that 60 percent of the population aged 13 to 34 are users of the new social media application. It proudly announced that among teenagers, Snapchat is now the choice beating Twitter and even Facebook.
