Radiohead surprised everyone with the disappearance of their entire social media pages as well as their official website. With this move, fans of the "Creep" hitmaker assumed the band is preparing for the release of their ninth album.
Thom Yorke's Twitter is now empty as he deleted all of his tweets, the same thing about their Facebook page, according to The Verge. A Reddit user named Norsson observed the band's official website was slowly fading until it turned to all-white completely.
This goes to Radiohead's both Twitter and Facebook cover photos, they all turned to empty white. However, their YouTube channel remains to be active as their music videos can still be watched.
Pitchfork cited Radiohead did the cryptic move after sending a mysterious email to their fans. "Sing a song of sixpence that goes. Burn the Witch. We know where you live," the email read, Mirror reported.
Radiohead has been known for releasing new LPs in unusual ways. Hence, fans believed the email is a sign that they are about to release their ninth album.
"All indications point to the imminent release of Radiohead's ninth album," a fan said on Twitter. "Radiohead is trolling the internet without posting anything on the internet. Pretty brilliant," another one said.
Brian Message, Radiohead's manager, recently revealed the band is about to release its new album. However, the strange way Radiohead did puzzle everyone how the ninth album will be launched.
To recall, Radiohead's frontman, Thom Yorke, personally handed Radiohead-themed newspapers in record stores in the release of their album, "King of Limbs." The eighth record was introduced days after the band announced its launch with a music video of "Lotus Flower," The Guardian cited.
The seventh LP, "In Rainbows," was first publicized online, where fans have the freedom to buy it at any price they want. Lastly, Thom Yorke's recent project, "Tomorrow's Modern Boxes," can be downloaded from BitTorrent for free.
