How To Prevent Allergy: 4 Lifestyle Changes To Beat Allergic Reactions

There is an allergy epidemic in the world, with over a billion people suffering from allergies today. Learning how to prevent allergies can make many people's lives easier and more comfortable.

Some of the symptoms of allergies include the obvious ones like a runny nose and itchy skin. The less obvious symptoms of allergies include weight gain, stomach pain, sleeping problems, headaches, fatigue, anxiety and depression. Here are some of the most effective lifestyle changes to prevent allergy.

1. Avoid Places With Severe Air Pollution

Air pollution makes plants produce more pollen. Pollens contain an enzyme that can damage the linings of the nose and lungs which causes allergic reactions. As much as possible, stay in places where air pollution is not too severe in order to prevent allergy.

2. Avoid Using Air Fresheners

"Air fresheners increase risk of allergies and asthma, mostly because of the chemical fragrances they contain," according to Medical News Today. The best solution to this problem is to open the windows regularly and let fresh air inside your home. You can also use an air purifier if the air outside is even worse than the air inside.

3. Avoid Fast Food

Eating at least three fast food meals in a week can increase your risk for allergies. Avoiding foods with lots of fats and sugar can help prevent allergy. Eating more fruits and veggies is the best response.

4. Avoid Exposure To Molds

One of the best ways to prevent allergy is by avoiding exposure to molds. Make sure to check for mold in every part and corner of your home and eliminate them as soon as possible. "Indoors, mold grows wherever there is a source of moisture, particularly in the bathroom, kitchen, or basement," the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America explained.
