The Millenium Falcon Arrives On Star Wars Episode VIII Set
Almost 2 years in waiting is nothing compared to the agony of a 30-year hiatus but any update about Star Wars Episode VIII sure got hardcore fans screaming, especially after the billion blockbuster success of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens last year. Collider reported that the newest installment started shooting last fall in Ireland with new director Rian Johnson. This was done early to capture the perfect climate to continue certain scenes from The Force Awakens with Skellig Michael in Ireland.
Now the filming moved near London since last February and photos published by the Daily Mail gives an exclusive look of the taping location upon the arrival of the Millennium Falcon. The aircraft, owned by Han Solo, is the "fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy," according to the official website of Star Wars. The article also shared that Joe Johnston redesigned the ship after a "partially eaten hamburger" and the middle material of it is made of Ferrari and tank model parts.
What To Expect From Star Wars Episode VIII
The released photos showed the Millennium Falcon alongside a set that looks like the world from Star Wars Episode VII where Rey found Jedi Luke Skywalker, according to the Daily Mail.
While many theories came out on who Rey is and what her connection to Luke Skywalker is, Rian Johnson still hasn't dropped the full plot of Star Wars Episode VIII, leaving fans curious on what they'll watch at the big screen. He did post behind-the-scene photos and announced that shooting of Star Wars Episode VIII is already halfway done.
Returning cast members are Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domnhall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andie Serkis. Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern will be joining them with unconfirmed roles, as reported by The Guardian.
Meanwhile, before Star Wars Episode VIII kicks off in 2017, Star Wars fans can catch a spin-off entitled Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that will be released on December 16, 2016. Excited to watch it and Star Wars Episode VIII next year? Tell us why in the comments section below!
