New reports indicate that Prince may have picked up on pain pills the night before he died. On April 20, "His Royal Badness" is said to have travelled six miles from his Paisley Park home to get prescription medications in Minnetonka.
Prince Travelled Six Miles The Night Before He Died
Family members of Prince told TMZ that "His Royal Badness" may have been visiting various pharmacies and doctors, including a personal friend, for prescription pills. Reports speculated that the far travel to those sources of prescription pills could have been an effort to hide any trace of evidence. As a protocol, pharmacies are conscious with the refill of controlled substances such as Percocet, Vicodin, Xanax and Oxycontin, NY Daily News added.
TMZ claimed that Prince visited several Walgreens pharmacies in Minneapolis, spotted four times in the week leading up to his death. Oddly enough, he travelled all six miles the night before his death to visit a pharmacy.
There are at least eight pharmacies along the way from his home in Paisley Park to Minnetonka that Prince could have picked up his drugs from. It still remains a mystery why he chose to visit that particular pharmacy.
Prince And His Prescription Pills
The pharmacies Prince allegedly visited are now under investigation. The authorities reportedly served a search warrant to Walgreens based in Chanhassen, which Prince last visited the night before his shocking death.
"His Royal Badness" is said to have problems with Percocet, suffering an overdose six days before his death, the gossip website said. On April 15, the plane that Prince was travelling had to make an emergency landing in Illinois. At the airport, he was said to have taken an emergency "save shot" for his Percocet overdose.
Mirror UK said that Prince desperately tried to hide his health problems and addiction to prescription pills for the last decade. The "Purple Rain" singer was in constant pain due to performing in his platform heels according to reports. Prince also battled depression and stage fright according to reports.
Six months earlier, Prince was diagnosed with AIDS. He was also diagnosed with HIV during the 90s. The legendary performer was said to be torn between his passion and his health, deciding to continue on performing despite his failing health.
"His Royal Badness" was born with frail, diagnosed with epilepsy when he was born. Prince admitted this only in 2009 to host Tavis Smiley saying, "I've never spoken about this before but I was born epileptic. I used to have seizures when I was young." He turned to painkillers for his anxiety and for his chronic hip pain.
On April 21, Prince, 57, was found unresponsive in an elevator at his home. He was found with powerful painkillers according to reports. The cause of death is not yet determined.
Prince was found alone and authorities have not found any evidence of foul play. He was cremated in a private funeral ceremony at his Paisley Park home.
