Stephen Curry talks about parenthood and his matching tattoo with wife Ayesha Curry in an exclusive interview with a magazine. The Golden State Warriors point guard shares how he is as a husband and as a father when he's not busy playing MVP of the year.
Stephen Curry As A Husband
Parents.com had an exclusive interview with the three-time NBA All-Star player, sharing his love story with her rising culinary star wife, Ayesha Curry. Ask Men made a report on how Stephen Curry was friendzoned by his wife. While they attended the same church when they were teens, they never dated until Stephen Curry's junior year when both were located in Los Angeles.
When he reached out to Ayesha on Facebook, the latter had no idea of Stephen Curry's intention. "I mean, it was friend vibes ..." Ayesha Curry told Parents, "until I dodged his first kiss."
"He was in mid-conversation and came flying at my face like a thief in the night," Ayesha Curry added. "So I was like, No. Then I thought, 'Oh, I didn't know this is what was happening.'"
After the first kiss, things got better. Stephen was sure of Ayesha Curry and never regretted marrying young. Stephen Curry also shared a ritual every time Ayesha attends his game.
Stephen Curry raises his left arm to reveal a tattoo of two arrows on his triceps. The arrow points at himself and the other towards Ayesha Curry's matching tattoo.
"I have to show it," said Stephen Curry. "This signifies that the past is behind us and the future is in front of us, so we stay in the middle, in the moment. I smack my tattoo and she does the same." It also serves as a reminder for the Golden State Warrior star to have fun during the game.
Stephen Curry As A Dad
Ayesha said that most of the time, she attends Stephen Curry's game. While Ayesha Curry used to bring Riley with her, now she leaves her at home since most of the game last late at night.
Stephen Curry is also proud of how Riley has become the star of the family. Although Riley doesn't have any idea yet that she's famous. Stephen and Ayesha also consult each other in terms of posting stuff to social media.
"We'll just show each other a photo and ask, 'Should I post this?'," Stephen Curry shared. "We know we're in a different situation than most people, but we want to share stuff that's meaningful and not have to be guarded."
Ayesha Curry also revealed that Stephen Curry is not "too cool for school" kind of dad. He would go down on the floor to play with the girls, even dressing up clothes if he has to. She said that they both balance each other.
In December 2015, the family was spotted helping out the non-profit Feed the Children, Daily Mail UK reports. Helping out Ayesha and Stephen Curry, daughters Ryan and Riley Curry were also spotted helping out in giving away food and toiletries.
