May The Fourth Be With You: Celebrate Star Wars Day With Episode VIII's Luke Skywalker And Rey

May the 4th is here again, and it is time to celebrate Star Wars Day. While most fans will spend the day watching a Star Wars movie marathon, the Internet is scattered with amazing "Star Wars" fan art and memes including an adorable illustration featuring "Star Wars Episode VIII" characters Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) along with the great Master Yoda!

io9 discovered the cute "Star Wars" fan art by Edward Pun, which is inspired by a photo posted by Mark Hamill on Twitter in celebration of his costar Daisy Ridley's birthday. In the picture that could have been tailored for May the 4th, the man who plays Luke Skywalker is perched on the Star Wars actress' back and pointing to the horizon in an homage to the iconic Jedi training scene featured in "The Empire Strikes Back."

It didn't take long before Edward Pun decided to add more "Star Wars" flavor to the image and immediately posted it on his Facebook page. The quintessential May the 4th art, which also appears on the artist's blog and DeviantArt page, transformed Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley into their "Star Wars" characters Luke Skywalker and Rey.

He also added Yoda's Force ghost wistfully watching the Jedi master and his new apprentice. In the illustration, Yoga was saying, "Piggy back ride, I miss."

Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker only had a brief appearance in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," but the Jedi master is expected to play a bigger role in "Star Wars Episode VIII." Some fans believe that the sequel will be similar to "The Empire Strikes Back," where Luke Skywalker flew to Dagobah to get some proper Jedi training from Yoda. However, this time it will be Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker teaching Daisy Ridley's Rey the way of the Force.

In addition to that, "Star Wars" fans are hoping that the truth about Daisy Ridley's Rey will finally be revealed, especially if she is actually a Skywalker child. There are speculations that Daisy Ridley's Rey is actually the long-lost daughter of Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker, while some believe that she is the younger sister of Ben (Skywalker) Solo aka Kylo Ren.

Star Wars Day is celebrated by fans all over the world on May 4 (hence, "May the Fourth be with you"). "Star Wars Episode VIII" is scheduled for release on December 16, 2017.
