However, Nina Jacobson pointed out that Hurricane Katrina will offer the suspense that "People Vs OJ Simpson" did not have. Executive producer Brad Simpson explained that viewers will not be able to foretell the outcome of "American Crime Story" season 2. Unlike in "People Vs OJ Simpson," followers will not know ahead of time who lives and who dies in Hurricane Katrina.
One thing "American Crime Story" season 2 promises to continue from "People Vs OJ Simpson" is to take a familiar story and give it fresh perspective. Hurricane Katrina will make people care about the "American Crime Story" season 2 characters as much as they did in "People Vs OJ Simpson."

American Crime Story producing director Anthony Hemingway emphasized that "American Crime Story" season 2's take on Hurricane Katrina will be very different from Treme. "I think it will have as much of an impact and be as effective as 'O.J.,' but untraditionally," Hemingway said.
