Marijuana News & Updates: Cannabis Could Be The Cure For Pills And Heroin Addiction

A new study claims that marijuana could treat those who are addicted to painkillers and heroin. A lot of people who were once addicted to those substances shared their testimonies on how marijuana has helped them stop their addiction.

KRQE reported that people who claim that marijuana has made them cure their addiction to opioid and heroin are growing in numbers. These patients are now advocating the use of cannabis for treating individuals who are suffering from addiction to pills and heroin. Although there are many success stories regarding its advantages for heroin and painkiller addicts, there are only a few studies that could confirm its benefits.

Those who have tried using marijuana and have proven it effective as a treatment for their addiction to heroin and pills are saying that there are now scientific facts supporting their claims. They specifically referenced the article released by the Journal of Pain, saying that those who have been dependent on using opioid to alleviate their pain have reduced it since switching to marijuana.

CBS also got a hold of this report saying that even lawmakers have been intrigued by this push that weed advocates have been doing based on their experiences. Apparently, instead of using painkillers, marijuana is more effective in addressing their physical pain.

However, medical practitioners are still not convinced that it could be used as a treatment for heroin and painkillers addiction. They said that they would need more evidence before they could confidently prescribe marijuana to their patients.

So many great testimonies are being said based on the positive effects that marijuana has done in treating their heroin and painkiller addiction. However, the question is will the medical industry buy it?
