The number of toddlers accidentally shooting people a year is now at an alarming rate that parents and any legal guardian should be extra cautious in handling their guns. Innocent lives have been victims of another innocent life; such irony needs to have an end.
The Daily Mail reported that a lot of toddlers have accidently shot people this year and most of them happened to be their parents. There are also instances that toddlers shot themselves leading to their death. Just a week ago in Georgia, another toddler was found dead after accidently shooting himself using his father's gun.
The Huffington Post also shared that also last week; Patrice Price, 26, was accidentally shot by her toddler while she was driving. Apparently, the little boy found a handgun in the backseat of the car owned by Price's boyfriend who is a security guard. The 26-year-old mom crashed the car after being shot. Some people tried to revive her with CPR, but she wasn't able to make it.
This year alone, The Washington Post reported that there have already been 23 incidents that a toddler was involved in accidentally shooting another person or shooting themselves using a gun. Nine of these toddlers have accidentally shot themselves after discovering their parent's gun lying around unattended.
Back on February 6, another toddler accidentally shot her nine-year-old sister, Kimberly Reylander, using a pistol at their grandparents' house. She was shot in the head and was rushed to the hospital. But just like the others, she also succumbed to the incident caused by an innocent toddler.
These are just a few of the real life stories that happened when adults leave their loaded guns unattended. Always unload the bullets from your guns if you know there is a child in your house.
Don't let another innocent toddler accidentally take the life of another innocent one in your family. Share this article with your family and friends to remind them in case they own guns.
