"The Good Wife" is one of the most popular series on the CBS network. In fact, it won numerous prestigious awards in the past years. However, it will soon take a break on the small screens and according to reports, it will have a "surprising but inevitable" finale.
'The Good Wife' Will Have A Surprising And Inevitable Ending
"The Good Wife" creators Michelle and Robert King teased about the kind of ending that fans can expect in the finale. "It should be surprising but inevitable. That's a very difficult bar to hit, so... be kind," Robert King told Entertainment Weekly.
"I hope viewers will feel like they want to start at the beginning of the series again. I hope it's like Finnegans Wake, where the end leads them right back to the beginning."
Will's Death In 'The Good Wife' A Great Lost For The Show
Michelle and Robert King were very proud to have kept Will Gardner's death a secret for quite a while. According to the pair, they were fortunate to work with the crew and actors who were very cooperative to keep the plot away from fans.
"We also credit CBS, which really understood the need, creatively, to keep it secret. We're still a little confused by how they did it," Robert added.
Will's death was one of the big surprises in "The Good Wife" but per Vox, the said twist was the downfall of the show. According to the report, the romantic entanglements in "The Good Wife" are fun but were only second to Alicia's adventures from being a political wife to a self-determined woman. However, it was an interesting angle.
When Will left "The Good Wife" season five and Kalinda followed in season 6, the show lost two significant characters. It created large holes in "The Good Wife" series and the production couldn't fill it no matter how they tried.
