New Jersey teen appears in court with 43 bags of heroin

A teenager from New Jersey showed up to court Wednesday with 43 bags of heroin on hand, according to reports.

Te'Mon Molley, 18, was scheduled for a hearing at the Township of Hamilton Municipal Court in Mays Landing.

Officers at the court claimed they noticed a strong smell of marijuana upon Molley's arrival. He was with two other people at the time.

Authorities immediately conducted an investigation and discovered that Molley had 43 bags of heroin and more than $400 in cash.

The investigation done by authorities did not have anything to do with the original reason he was called to appear in court.

Molley was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute. He is currently being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $15,000 cash bail.

The two other people who were with him, whose names were both undisclosed, were not charged and were released immediately after investigations were concluded.

No information as to where the heroin came from or why he brought it with him to court has been reported. Officials have not provided any information as to where the $400 came from.

Molley, his parents and his friends have not commented on the issue.

Heroin has been linked to a number of celebrity deaths of late. Last July, actor Cory Monteith was found dead on what was later on confirmed to have been caused by heroin and alcohol intoxication. In February, award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his apartment in New York City due to mixed drug intoxication, including heroin, benzodiazepines, amphetamine and cocaine.
