Xaomi officially unveiled its new flagship phone, Mi Max, which is the largest phablet by the Chinese company, on Tuesday in China. Along with the latest smartphone, Xiaomi, too, introduced its innovative Android skin, MIUI 8.
According to Android Authority, Mi Max comes with Xiaomi's MIUI 8 system software that carries a different set of colors but its user interface remains the same. MIUI 8 is also equipped with new fonts called Mi Lanting, which includes Latin and Chinese letterings.
MIUI 8 operating system has the ability to emphasize messages that could be considered as spam, fraud and suspicious. MIUI 8, too, redesigned the Notes features with protected password or finger print, an array of templates and browsing.
Aside from that, MIUI 8 improved the gallery app with share controls, several snap selection and support for doodles and stickers. Video editing is now also enhanced and the app itself has the capability to store more with its additional space.
Mi Max boasted its massive 6.44-inch screen with 7.5 mm metal thin body and weighs just 203 grams with finger print sensor. Mi Max is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 while the other variants bear 652 processor and comes with 3GB or 4GB RAM, PC Mag reported.
Aside from the huge screen, Mi Max also holds 128GB internal memory while other versions have 32GB and 64GB storage expandable with MicroSD card. Mi Max, too, has the power to go on for a day with its 4850mAh battery with 4G LTE connectivity.
Selfie addicts out there will surely enjoy Mi Max's camera system with its 16-megapixel rear camera. Mi Max's front camera, on the other hand, is 5 megapixel with 85 degree wide-angle good for taking snaps and videos.
Mi Max has a starting price of 1,499 Yuan ($230) in China for the 32 GB, 1,699 Yuan ($261) for the 62GB and 1,999 Yuan ($307) for the 128GB. Mi Max has White, Gray and Gold color variations that soon will be out in the market, as per Androidheadlines.
MIUI 8 beta registration will start on May 16, the beta testing is on June 1 and the Developer ROM will be unveiled on June 17. The Chinese edition of MIUI 8 can be used on the Xiaomi Mi 2, Mi 2s, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4C, Mi 4S, Mi 5, Redmi and Mi Note units and of course, on Mi Max and will soon be available worldwide.
