In last night's new episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." there was a brief mention of the passing of Peggy Carter at the age of 95. With this bit of information, fans now are speculating if this translates to the end of ABC's "Agent Carter."

Agent Peggy Carter Dead At 95

E! News told how Peggy Carter was revealed dead on last night's episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. At the start of the episode, Coulson (Clark Gregg) was browsing through the newspaper when he spotted an obituary for Peggy Carter. For a brief moment, Coulson mourned the loss of the founding member who influenced him to engage in world-saving business.

Meanwhile, fans had a quick view on how Agent Peggy Carter will turn out to be. In the obituary, it was mentioned that she is survived by her two children. However, it's not yet confirmed who did she end up with (many fans are rooting for Agent Sousa).

Agent Carter On ABC May Not Be Renewed

With the decision to show that Agent Peggy Carter has already passed away, some fans take this as a subtle hint that "Agent Carter" may not be renewed anymore. As the "Agent Carter's" future with ABC is not yet confirmed, the brief mention of Agent Peggy Carter's passing may be the networks way of hinting its fans of an ending.

Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter also mentioned that it is highly unlikely that "Agent Carter" may be picked up for a third season. Even Vox has listed "Agent Carter" in the unsure list for renewals. ABC is set to reveal their official line-up for 2016-2017 TV season at their Upfront presentation set on May 17.
