‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ Release Date, News & Update: Four Houses Of American Hogwarts Revealed!

A software engineer was trying to decode Harry Potter's official website, Pottermore, and ended up finding the American version of Hogwarts, Ilvermorny's, four houses. The Harry Potter spin-off film, the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," possibly have Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird and Pukwudgie as its homes' names.

Harry Potter's Hogwarts has four house names inspired by its founders, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. These terms have American counterparts that assumed to be Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird and Pukwudgie.

According to Tech Times, the British version is named after the four great wizards while the American adaptation looks like from Native American mythology. The Horne Serpent is believed to be a caring creature that guards one's life.

The Wampus is considered a cat-like animal feared for belonging to the family of catamounts. The Thunderbird is known as an enchanted American bird quite like a phoenix that can produce thunder and storm wherever it soars.

Lastly, the Pukwudgie is a small, about two or three fit tall, troll with supernatural powers that can create fire. It, too, can appear and disappear in an instant and can transform into any kind of appearance it wants.

However, it is not yet confirmed if the four names will be the houses' moniker or only mascots. It has been known that Gryffindor has a lion, Slytherin has a snake, Ravenclaw has a raven while Hufflepuff has a badger.

iO9 reported while decoding the Harry Potter website, the engineer found a not-yet-done quiz that carries the names of Ilivermorny's four houses. However, even if the guy found the secret code on the Pottermore official page, the site, J.K. Rowling and the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" distributor, Warner Bros. should first confirm the news.

"Last January, the name and general location of the wizarding school Ilvermorny was revealed in new writing by J.K. Rowling that was posted on pottermore.com," a spokesperson from the website told Newsweek. "Pottermore has not confirmed details about the school since then. We will release and confirm new information about Ilvermorny in the near future."

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is set to hit the theaters on Nov. 18. What can you say about the American names of the four houses? Share us your thoughts. Write your comments below!
