Parents would always aim to raise highly sociable kids. Sometimes parents make reinforcements that might seemingly force the youngsters to interact with other kids. Instead of pushing them to make friends, why not prepare simple games that would help your child develop social skills?
Before inviting your child's friends over, prepare a sand timer. A sand timer is best recommended because most of these young kids cannot tell time yet. Or, you can be creative by using a short kiddie song that lasts for about a minute and set it to repeat. These games are timed, most to the maximum of one minute, depending on the age of the participants.
Passing The Toy
You can prepare a ball or a kaleidoscope. Sky is the limit for any toy you would want to use but have only one. Have the kids sit forming a circle and let them take turns with passing the toy around in a specified time frame. Children can learn the value of sharing by giving and taking the toy. They also learn the virtue of patience in this simple game, waiting for their turn.
What Comes Next?
Start the story with a simple sentence like, "Once upon a time." Then set the timer for a few seconds to let the next child continue being creative to share what comes next. This helps develop their verbal skills and teaches them to respect others by not disagreeing impolitely.
Play Physical Games
There are unlimited games for kids; the goal is to have group games so each child can join in the fun. You can use party games that encourage great interaction between the players. Physical games develop their gross motor skills and at the same time teach them to be more considerate of others by taking turns or by not getting angry when losing.
Once your child experiences games with other kids, he or she would grasp the essential meaning of having fun and that it involves other people.
