The live action adaptation of the beloved video game "World of Warcraft" will finally hit theaters in June. Now, one fan has decided to recreate the trailer for Duncan Jones' "Warcraft" movie with "WoW" assets to give it a more authentic video game feel.
The "Warcraft" movie trailer was remade by Youtube user Ivan Kuzkin by using "World of Warcraft" assets (via Kotaku). Rather than recreate the entire "Warcraft" movie trailer shot-by-shot, Kuzkin took some of the most memorable scenes from the teaser to show an impressive new video. The remade "Warcraft" trailer highlights the sweeping shot of Azeroth, Durotan's Orc battle growl as well as the iconic scene of Anduin Lothar taking a leap of faith.
Ivan Kuzkin also released a video showing the original "Warcraft" movie scenes alongside the recreated shots with the "World of Warcraft" assets. The second video offers a glimpse at what the "Warcraft" movie would look like if the entire film was made with "WoW" assets, which might actually seem like a good idea.
The "Warcraft" movie might still be a few weeks from release, but "WoW" fans are already divided between the ones who believe the film will do the game justice and those who think otherwise. However, the "Warcraft" movie has the support of Blizzard Entertainment. The film also boasts of a cast and crew that grew up playing "World of Warcraft," who could steer the "Warcraft" movie in the right direction.
"Warcraft" follows the story of orc warriors led by Durotan (Toby Kebbel) as they flee a dark power that threatens their world Draenor. The orcs end up in Azeroth, which is also in the brink of destruction. To save their new world, the orcs must unite with Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel) and the rest of mankind.
The film will hit theaters on June 10. In the meantime, watch the real second trailer for "Warcraft" below.
