ABC has officially cancelled "Galavant" after Season 2, which left many fans devastated over this news. While the latest season of the medieval comedy will serve as the series finale, actress Karen David recently shared her thoughts on the show's cancellation and its possible renewal in another network, particularly on Hulu.
"Galavant" Season 2 will serve as the show's series finale on ABC. According to Deadline, the network has announced the show's cancellation along with other shows.
The publication noted that the Season 2 renewal of "Galavant" was already called "a miracle" in itself. However, the show has found a huge supporter back then in the person of former ABC head Paul Lee, which might explain the reason behind the show's renewal for Season 2.
Now that Lee has announced his departure from the network, actress Karen David recalled that it was during that time they started to lose hope that "Galavant" Season 2 will no longer be renewed for another season. Speaking with Carter Matt, the actress shared that they found out about the cancellation of the show at the same day as fans and viewers did.
David said that there are still a lot of stories they could tell after "Galavant" Season 2. She also thanked fans and viewers for their support since its first season on TV.
"We all still feel in our guts, genuinely, all of us, that 'Galavant' can go somewhere else," said David. "We don't know where or when, but we still feel in our hearts that there's much more we can do with the show."
The cancellation of "Galavant" after Season 2 has also prompted campaigns on social media and in various online petition sites in hopes to save the show and renew it in another network. The "#MoreGalavant" campaign or week began on May 14 and will end on May 20.
David also encouraged fans and viewers to secure the show's future on Hulu through various ways. According to the actress, fans can subscribe to Hulu for the seven-day free trial to boost the ratings and show the network that "Galavant" Season 2 deserves to be renewed.
