Captain America: Who Will Be The Successor Of Captain America In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Weeks after the release of the Captain America: Civil War film, there are a lot of discussions about what's next for the big superheroes especially for Steve Rogers commonly known as Captain America. Following the original material which is the Marvel comics, Captain America dies as a consequence of the things that happened in the civil war. If this is inevitable in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who will then replace him as the captain?

Variety previously stated that Chris Evans' six-film contract under Marvel Cinematic Universe is already nearing its end, and we can't escape the fact that Captain America is going to pass the iconic shield of the first avenger. The captain has two close sidekicks that are likely to fit the role of being the leader of the avengers and these are Sam Wilson known as Falcon and James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes known as the Winter Soldier.

Falcon as Captain America

According to MoviePilot, in the Marvel comics; Captain America vol.7, Falcon is the current hero as the successor of Captain America. If we relate this in the latest "Captain America: Civil War" movie, Sam showed that he has the same principle as Steve regarding the Sokovia accords in limiting the actions of the Avengers. He also has the same fighting style of Captain America and will only make him more powerful if he holds the indestructible shield.

Winter Soldier as Captain America

Another likely candidate for the next Captain America is his closest friend Bucky. In the Marvel comics, Steve asked Tony (Iron Man) to fill in his role for the whole team when he dies but the Iron Man declined and suggested to pass the shield to Bucky to become the next Captain America.

Relating it to the "Captain America: Civil War" movie, Bucky seems to have the upper hand to take the role. Note that his left steel arm has the red star logo same as the star in Captain America's shield.

In the fighting scenes of "Captain America: Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War," you can see how well Bucky uses the shield as his own weapon whenever he gets a hold of it. Marvel's Anthony and Joe Russo also hinted what's next for Sebastian Stan's role . They said, "He has to get everyone on his side by the end of this movie because his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get a lot bigger."

Whoever is the next Captain America, there is still one thing in common that the fans wanted. They all want to have a fuller story and an action-packed movie for the next Marvel superhero film.
