"League of Legends" is one of the most popular video games today. In fact, this is one of the most active games in esports. There is no doubt that many love "League of Legends" but according to news reports, some have issues with Riot's execution decision.
Riot's Authority Has Become A Major Problem
According to iDigitalTimes, Riot's authority has become a major problem. Nobody can question its decision and it seems that the developers and publishers have pushed their power further to the point of banning teams without proper investigation.
Per the report, the banning of the North American LCS team, Renegades is an example. In a press release, Riot said that according to their sources, RNG had problems and "confrontations between management and players, refusal to honor payment and contract provisions, and failure to maintain a safe environment for all team members."
Montecristo, one of the co-owners of RNG is also banned from owning a team for a year. Montecristo tweeted his disappointment and wrote, "I was also told of my ban 30 minutes before the post. I was given no time to respond or present any information."
Montecristo received sympathy from his followers. Some even questioned the legality of Riot's decision. This move from Riot has brought fears to other "League of Legends" players that they might receive a ban notification anytime.
Riot Starts The Trend Of Banning 'League of Legends' Players
Earlier this month, Riot Games banned Tyler1 for good. Per Esport Editions, this will not stop Tyler1 from playing "League of Legends" because he can still buy another pre-leveled account. However, this will end his streaming career in "League of Legends." The permaban punishment given to Tyler1 received a mixed reaction from the "League of Legends" community.
Riot Games has banned another player again. According to HardcoreGamer, Riot bans The Rain Man for trolling. The Rain Man is not as popular as Tyler1. According to the report, he played top lane for Team SoloMid for a very short time and has now owned a team called Team Solo Queue.
Per the report, Redditors posted a video of The Rain Man trolling on steam and within 30 minutes he was banned. Others might find Riot Games' to be so strict but some others are happy that the company is consistent in banning irresponsible gamers. As the report suggests, "If you're famous or at least streaming the game and trolling, you're likely to meet the ban hammer very very quickly."
Do you support Riot Games' strict implementation of banning gamers? Do you agree that Tyler1 and The Rain Man deserve to be ban? What's your perspective on the RNG issue? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
