Emma Watson accused the entertainment and fashion industry as putting "dangerously unhealthy" pressure on women.
"With airbrushing and digital manipulation, fashion can project an unobtainable image that's dangerously unhealthy," Watson told The Guardian.
After the recent New York premiere of "Noah," Watson tweeted a picture of the plethora of cosmetics - plus guardian angel pin - that she said were responsible for making her look stunning and Red Carpet ready.
That, and a photo of her in a backless dress, were coupled with the caption, "I did NOT wake up like this."
Watson is all too familiar with the unrealistic expectations Hollywood places on women. Having grown up in the spotlight, the "Harry Potter" star admits the industry's pressures sometimes weighed on her.
"As a younger woman, that pressure got me down, but I've made my peace with it," she said.
The 23-year-old actress says that now she looks forward to what's ahead.
"I'm excited about the [aging] process. I'm more interested in women who aren't perfect. They're more compelling."
Watson is a soon-to-be Brown University graduate, having taken some time to focus on her studies. Especially in this "normal" setting, it took some time for her to gain confidence.
"On the first day, I walked into the canteen and everyone went completely silent and turned around to look at me. I had to say to myself 'it's OK, you can do this.' You just have to take a deep breath and gather your courage," Watson told The Sunday Times.
At the "Noah" premiere in London on March 31, the young starlet stepped out at Odeon Leicester Square in a breathtaking Ralph Lauren Collection gown.
Watson is about to start filming a thriller entitled "Regression," by Alejandro Amenábar, on top of finishing her degree at Brown.
