‘Clash Royale’ May 18 Big Update: New Troops To Be Stronger, More Deadly; Players Advised To Be Prepared

It has not been so long since "Clash Royale" received a big update for May, another wave of game changes are about to come. The updates are said to make the new troops introduced in the preceding "Clash Royale" update more deadly and stronger.

"Clash Royale" Players Must Watch Out

"Clash Royale," Supercell's newest mobile video game, is going to receive big gameplay changes on May 18. GottaBeMobile said players should be prepared for the upcoming changes and make some "Clash Royale" strategy adjustments. The site noted that in addition to making the troops stronger and more deadly, the next major update from Supercell, which also developed the hit game "Clash of Clans," would also include a cut in Freeze spell time. Likewise, the update aims to make this card game's gameplay more balanced and even more competitive. GottaBeMobile also noted that the May 18 updates are more focused on the offense; well, because "Clash Royale" is a strategy game and players are encouraged to make moves rather than play defense.

Some Changes To Note

There are several changes coming as mentioned, but let's take a look at some of them. According to ClashRoyale.com, the Royal Giant's damage will be reduced by 4 percent because it's a little bit too overpowered. The duration of the Freeze Spell, meanwhile, will be cut by 1 second and would likely change how Hog+Freeze strategy would work.

"Clash Royale" players can now rely more on Fire Spirits which will be up 25 percent in area damage, per ClashRoyale.com. Guards will turn to be more ruthless, getting an 8 percent hitpoints and damage increase. Lava Hounds and Lava Pups hitpoints will be up by 3 percent and 9 percent, respectively.
