Just A Few Hours Away! What Technology Announcements To Expect In Google I/O 2016

In just a few hours, our techno friends will be joining this year's Google I/O 2016 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. And like every other year since Google I/O started on 2010, it's the most exciting day that Google will announce everything it has been working on and partnering with to come up with another exciting digital period to live in.

TechCrunch, EnGadget, Android Central, CNET and other media outfits are beaming with excitement as they release their round of predicted announcements that will happen in Google I/0 2016. We're pumped up too as we summarized their predictions: Android innovations, virtual reality, voice assistants and a lot more lined up for this year.

Android N

Android N can't be out of the list because it has been making news since Google released its preview. With its split-screen multitasking magic, a revamped notifications pulldown and a power-saving feature, what else will Google offer new about Android N? Developers expect to find out in Google I/O 2016.

Android Wear

Another update announcement, Android Wear is already known to be the accessories anyone can wear that function like an Android. So "What's New In Android Wear?," as the session book says will be announced on Google I/O 2016.

Android VR

Now, Android VR is the most exciting as Google brings us closer to reality. Android VR or short for Android Virtual Reality will finally show what it has been working on at Google I/O 2016. No one knows how it'll look like yet but there has been news that it'll be made up of cardboard. While that doesn't sound very exciting, just be prepared for an independent Android VR that Google has been promising for over a year now.

Chrome OS

There had been reports that Google's Chrome OS will be adapting Android's operating system, allowing Chrome Books to access Google Play Store and install Android-exclusive apps on any of Google's devices. The transformation will happen in 2017 but clarifications on these software plans are expected to be announced in Google I/0 2016.

Project Tango

This is another project that everybody already knows as the codename that allows devices to get a grasp of where they stand in the real world--like being able to map out the current environment where they are, without using an external sensor. In Google I/O 2016, everyone's expecting that Google will announce the devices that will house Project Tango, and how developers can actually make their devices Tango-friendly.

Google Chirp

Google I/O is predicted to debut Google's own voice assistant, Chirp. This will challenge Alexa's Echo because being the information powerhouse that Google is, it will of course promise to deliver nothing less in assisting anyone's concern from booking a car in Uber to knowing the latest world news.

Google I/O is an annual developer and software conference that started in 2008 and has been held every year in Moscone Center. This will be the first year that it will be held on Google's own headquarters where Google's latest and upcoming software programs and products will be announced. According to PC World, some of Google I/O best announcements include the welcoming of Android in 2010 and the unifying of Android's operating system for tablets and phones named the Ice Cream Sandwich in 2011.

Google I/O 2016 is only a few hours away. Are you excited to hear about the latest in the technology industry, at least those coming from Google? Share us your own prediction in the Comments section below!
