George RR Martin Reveals That Characters Dies To Tell A True Story

A number of characters in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series died. No matter how adorable, gentle or loving your favorite character is, he or she is not safe with "The Winds of Winter" author.

For instance, did you member how he killed Jon Snow, which made fans clamor for "The Winds of Winter" to find out if the character is still alive. Unfortunately, "Game of Thrones" has already returned, but "TWOW" is still in the dark. According to Uproxx the celebrity author, George RR Martin has finally revealed the reason behind the deaths of the adorable characters in his book.

In an interview with Galaxys Edge, George RR Martin was asked how he used death in his writing. "I don't think of it in those terms, that I'm using death for any purpose. I think a writer, even a fantasy writer, has an obligation to tell the truth and the truth is, as we say in Game of Thrones, all men must die," Martin said.

According to George RR Martin if one writes about war and violence, and wants his work to be efficient, there should be death and it should affect the main character. "You can't write about war and violence without having death. If you want to be honest it should affect your main characters."

'The Winds of Winter' Not Coming Anytime Soon

For those waiting for "The Winds of Winter" the book is not coming any time soon. Previous reports claim that the book will be coming out in May, but it's not true.

Just recently, George RR Martin shared a sample chapter of "The Winds of Winter" and he cleared that he is still not done with the book. In his blog, he wrote, "And no, just to spike any bullshit rumors, changing the sample chapter does NOT mean I am done. See the icon up above? Monkey is still on my back... but he's growing, he is, and one day..."
