Apple has yet to announce the arrival of the iPhone 8 since the company is still gearing for the release of iPhone 7 this September. However, so much is expected from the upcoming smartphone because it will be the brand's tenth anniversary release. The iPhone 8 will reportedly boast of spectacular features.
The Mac Observer notes that while the iPhone 7 features will be great, the iPhone 8 tenth anniversary phone will have the most amazing features. A redesign and an update of its technology is expected and scheduled to be launched in 2017, the iPhone 8 will supposedly have:
1) Glass body case - This was confirmed by an Apple supplier CEO, Allen Horng of Catcher Technology, per Independent. The glass frame will still maintain metal frames with advanced technology and the new smartphone will not come cheap.
2) AMOLED 4K display - Mac Rumors reports that the iPhone 8 coming in 2017 could have a 5.8-inch AMOLED screen for its high-end version. But this will all depend on supply and availability of the technology.
3) Edge-to-edge display, no bezels - Because of the glass body case and the new display, the upcoming iPhone will have a screen that extends on the edges and the frame will have no bezels, per Forbes. Below is a concept of what the iPhone 8 should look like:
4) Wireless charging - Apple has long been working on this technology per Bloomberg. With wireless charging, that annoying white cord that iPhone users often complain about will no longer be an inconvenience. Business Insider reports that industry experts predict this will be featured in the iPhone coming out next year.
5) Touch ID - Apple will reportedly get rid of the home button for the iPhone 8 and replace it with a Touch ID button, which will be more space-saving. Per 9 to 5 Mac, the company has been working with third-party companies to develop the fingerprint sensors and it filed for a patent in March 2015. John Gruber, a tech writer, suggests that the sensor for the Touch ID will be "embedded in the display" given that it's supposed to be edgeless, per The Sun.
Since its first launch in 2007, over 700 million units of the smartphone have already been sold. Learn more on what people are talking about for the iPhone 8 in the video below.
