"Prison Break" Season 5 recently unveiled its teaser trailer for the upcoming season, which showed that Michael (Wentworth Miller) is very much alive. The trailer also showed that Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies), Lincoln (Dominic Purcell), T-Bag (Robert Knepper) and the rest of the gang are back for the Fox revival.
What remains a mystery, though, is the return of Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) in the "Prison Break" revival. According to Digital Spy, Mahone plays a key role in the show since he became one of the show's most important characters and has even become a fan-favorite since Season 1.
The publication notes that Fox has remained tight-lipped over Fichtner's return in "Prison Break" Season 5. This could either mean Fitchner would surprisingly return to the revival and help save Michael or he could simply be too busy filming his other projects.
Fichtner has to squeeze in filming for the "Prison Break" revival in between his other projects such as "Independence Day" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." The outlet also notes on an earlier statement from the actor, stating that he requested that the show should explore his character even more in Season 4.
Meanwhile, filming for "Prison Break" Season 5 is ongoing in Morocco, reports Melty. According to the publication, Morocco may serve as the show's filming location for its scenes, which are reportedly based in Yemen.
The cast and crew have also been sharing a couple of BTS photos on their respective social media accounts. The upcoming season will see Lincoln and the rest of the team devise the show's "biggest escape ever."
"Prison Break" Season 5 premieres in spring 2017 on Fox.
