Daniel Craig Quits James Bond Role, Crazy $100 Million Deal Not Enough For Him?

In a world where every penny counts, being offered $100 million may be more than winning the lottery. However, for Daniel Craig, $100 million is not enough for him to accept the job. Crazy? Daniel Craig doesn't think so.

Telegraph reported that the British actor is done playing "James Bond," the movie which earned Craig millions of dollars. MGM is enticing Craig to do two more Bond films by offering him $100 million which will include endorsements, promotions, shares, the works.

Slashing Wrist An Option For Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig said that he would rather "slash his wrist" than do another Bond movie even if he would be offered $100 million. A source said that the reason behind Craig's refusal to play "James Bond" was a knee injury he suffered when he was filming "Spectre." The actor must have thought that losing one's life or getting more injuries will not compensate the $100 million being offered him.

A Market Watch analysis looked into the depth of reason that moved Daniel Craig to turn down a deal which many people would actually "die for." One career coach, Roy Cohen, said that the likes of Daniel Craig have made vast amounts of money that $100 million is not a big loss to them. Compare this with the needs of the ordinary guy and gal, where the said amount will mean so much.

Daniel Craig Not Alone

Daniel Craig isn't the only one who has turned down hefty paychecks. Reports have it that Jerry Seinfeld turned down a similar offer at $100 million to make one more season of "Seinfeld." Keanu Reeves was said to have shunned an $11 million offer to play the lead role in "Speed 2."

A Society of Human Resource Management survey showed that opportunity to advance in career was given greater weight by employees in deciding whether or not to stay in their jobs. The amount of money that they earn was only ranked third.

This survey speaks volumes when it comes to the underlying reasons why people stay in their present jobs. It also makes one understand that money isn't always everything. No wonder Daniel Craig turned down a $100 million deal.
