The future of "Limitless" Season 2 is still up in the air, as CBS recently confirmed that the Bradley Cooper-produced drama is being shopped to other networks. While fans remain optimistic that another network will pick up the show for another season, what are the chances that the show will be able to find a new home?
"Limitless" Season 2 is unlikely to get renewed on CBS following the network's recent announcement. According to Examiner, the show was not included in its new fall schedule.
CBS also informed the media that "Limitless" is not yet cancelled, but the show is currently being shopped to another network. While the network has not yet officially cancelled the show, fans believe that the network's move is already a sign that the series will soon be cancelled.
A petition has been raised on Care2Petitions in hopes of renewing "Limitless" for Season 2 on CBS or in other networks such as The CW, Netflix or Amazon. The said petition has only received over 1,000 supporters as of writing, which is not enough to persuade other networks to pick up the show for another season.
CBS has already cancelled a good number of shows from its lineup such as "Person of Interest," "The Good Wife" and "CSI: Cyber." It still remains to be seen whether "Limitless" will be included in this list or if it will survive another year on TV.
The aforementioned publication notes that "Limitless" did well during its Season 1 premiere on TV. However, as the show went by, it failed to gain as much attention from the viewers, which only resulted in an average of 1.0 - 1.3 in ratings.
This may be the reason behind CBS' refusal to commit to a "Limitless" Season 2. A lot of fans, however, see a lot of potential in the show given its storyline.
