After cancelling "Rush Hour" after its first season, CBS is replacing its spot on Thursday nights with drama series "Code Black." The remaining episodes of rush hour are expected to be aired about two months from now.
TVSeriesFinale said CBS seemed not be rushing to finish the cop drama series as its four remaining episodes will be shown starting July 23. It only aired its first 8 episodes until May 19.
According to an earlier Variety report, the show which is based from the from the film of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker has not been renewed by CBS. Unlike its movie counterpart, the TV series did not make pull enough audience to help with its ratings.
The same report said that it debut did OK but the numbers steadily went down for the show. "Rush Hour" has reportedly gotten a steady 1.1 rating from viewers aged 18-49.
In the hopes to get more ratings for the Thursday slot, CBS is placing in "Code Black" and postponing the remaining episodes of "Rush Hour." IMDB said "Code Black" is a TV adaptation of a documentary of the same name. Its story is about the staff of a busy emergency room who deal with a lot of patients.
Broadway World added that the drama presents patients who have limited financial resources. The doctors and other hospital staff still choose to treat them all despite this thus creating a "code black" situation for the medical facility.
The talented doctors and nurses are also faced with the challenge of working with patients who sometimes are just waiting for a miracle. They deal with these types of people that need immediate solutions to the illnesses because they could die any minute.
The series was renewed by CBS for a second season last March. It stars Marcia Gay Harden, Melanie Chandra and Luis Guzman, among others.
